Let your AI assistant do the book work. You keep the keys.
Connect Claude, Codex or another MCP app to Oktob on your Mac. It can build, style, check and export your book, but only with your permission. It is optional: Oktob works fully without it.

Permissions
You stay in control
- You grant each permission yourself.
- The assistant can only ask. It cannot give itself access.
- A folder permission covers only the folder you choose.

Privacy
Know where your words go
Oktob runs on your Mac and keeps your book there. Your AI app is different: it sends what it reads to its own provider, under that provider's terms. Connect it only for books you are happy to share with that provider.
Oktob does not send your book anywhere itself.

Works with MCP apps.
MCP is an open standard that lets AI apps use tools on your computer. Oktob is one of those tools.

Before you connect
Do I need an AI assistant to use Oktob?
No. Every feature works without one. The assistant is another way to do the same work.
What does it cost?
Oktob's licence terms are not final yet. Your AI app has its own price, set by its provider.
Can the assistant change my book without asking?
Only within permissions you have granted. It cannot grant itself more, and you can take a permission back at any time.
Will it write my book for me?
It can, if you ask it to. Oktob is built for the book work: structure, design, checking and export. Our free guide covers structuring a book with or without AI, and the limits of both.
